Career:

1. Sunny works as a shoe shiner outside the Bathinda bus stand.

2. Sunny has won ‘Golden Mic’ and has now been selected in Season 11 of Indian Idol.

3. Sunny has not received any professional training in singing.

 Household Condition of Sunny:

1. His whole family lives have been besieged with trouble.

2. For them management of three square meals a day is difficult.

3. They do not have drinking water facility and could not afford to pay the electricity bill.

4. Sunny’s mother is balloon seller and in exchange she asks for rice as alms from people.

5. They could not earn money by selling balloons. Even they could not repay the debt for marrying off their daughter (Sunny’s sister) after selling their previous house.

How Sunny has learnt the music:

Sunny has not received any professional training and has learnt everything from listening to music on his phone followed by rehearsals on his own. In the house he used a cot, a trunk, a harmonium and two utensils as a drum to play on.

How Sunny has given audition in Indian Idol?

1. In the first round he made two videos and submitted them online. He was called for second round to Chandigarh.

2. After successfully passing the second round he was called to Delhi for third round and then to Mumbai.

3. In Mumbai renowned musician Anu Malik during Studio round praised Sunny and said he was a reincarnation of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Performance in Indian Idol 11:

1. While auditioning he sang a song of legendary singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan- ‘Afreen Afreen’. 😇

2. Judges of the show (Vishal Dadlani, Neha Kakkar and Anu Malik) were awestruck after his rendition and it inspired an immediate yes from them followed by a standing ovation.
